Angie Founder

Angie’s passion for yoga began in Germany during her studies. What started as an irregular hobby evolved into a daily practice and a deeper understanding that yoga is more than just a physical exercise. During her first year living in Sri Lanka, she realized that yoga can take many forms—from short meditations and strong Ashtanga practices to embodied movement, conscious walks on the beach, and the way you interact with others. For Angie, yoga is an approach to living.

Her dedication to creating a space for remarkable teachers to guide people from all over the world drives her daily commitment to running the studio. A certified yoga instructor with 550 hours of training, you might meet her on the mat in the slow season months, holding space for you herself.

Originally from Germany, Angie fell in love with both Rihan, her husband, and the beauty of Sri Lanka. Together, they run Stay Golden, dedicated to creating memorable experiences for their guests.

Freya Yoga Teacher
Freya Facilitator

With over a decade of experience in the wellness space, Freya brings a grounded, compassionate, and deeply informed approach to everything she shares — from dynamic Vinyasa and Yin Yoga to deep tissue massage and personalised nutrition support. Originally from the UK and now based in Sri Lanka, her journey into this work began at 15, when yoga became a lifeline during recovery from an eating disorder and anxiety. That personal healing sparked a lifelong passion for movement, body intelligence, and nervous system support.

Freya is an ERYT-500 yoga teacher, deep tissue massage therapist, and registered nutritionist. Her classes are breath-led and anatomy-aware, blending functional movement with somatic practices to support strength, softness, and self-awareness. Her massage sessions combine deep tissue techniques, pressure point work, and Ayurvedic oils to release tension and restore balance. Her nutrition work is practical, science-based, and rooted in compassion — no diets, just honest support for gut health, energy, and hormonal balance.

This season, you’ll find her at Stay Golden offering Vinyasa Flow, Intermediate Vinyasa, Slow Flow & Embodiment, and Yin Yoga — plus massage and private nutrition consultations. Whether you meet her on the mat, the massage table, or in conversation, Freya holds space for you to reconnect with yourself, your body, and your own path to healing.

Rogerio Yoga Teacher
Rogério Facilitator

Meet Rogério — a dedicated yoga teacher whose journey with yoga began in 1997, during a time of deep physical and mental stress. Discovering Ashtanga Yoga helped him reconnect with himself and find peace, and he now shares this transformation through Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga.

His classes are accessible to all ages and levels, with a focus on conscious breathing, practical postures, and everyday body awareness. Rogério’s calm, grounded approach makes yoga a tool for both balance and self-discovery.

In Brazil, he also teaches meditation to children. Over the past decade, he’s introduced more than 4,000 kids to the practice — including two years spent working with 30 children from underserved communities in Rio. He even authored a children's book, The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Firefighter, inspired by this work.

Kat one yoga
Kat Facilitator

“Yoga is a core foundation in my life—its philosophy guides my values, asana supports my body, and meditation teaches me to surrender and simply be. Sharing these practices, which bring balance and deeper self-awareness, is one of my greatest joys.”

Meet Katharina — a yoga teacher with roots in Ashtanga and Hatha, and a love for crafting Jivamukti-inspired flows. Her classes are thoughtfully adapted to the level and energy of the group, making them both accessible and engaging.
Before stepping onto the yoga path, Kat spent over a decade in the corporate world. But after completing her teacher training, everything shifted. About a year and a half later, she fully embraced a new lifestyle, trading office life for a more mindful, movement-focused journey that’s taken her around the world.

Kat is also a certified massage therapist and Reiki master — two healing practices she’s passionate about and loves to share alongside her yoga offerings.
