From Arugam Bay town centre: Head south along the main road (Panama Road) following a slight bend to the right. Continue straight for about 400 meters, passing the water tower on the right. Look for the signs directing you to Stay Golden on your left. The hotel is nestled just 600 meters off the main road, with a welcoming entrance that leads you towards the beach.
Parking: You can park your bicycle, scooter, or tuk-tuk on the property. For cars, street parking is recommended.
About Arugam Bay: Arugam Bay, located on the east coast of Sri Lanka, is renowned for its world-class surfing spots and laid-back, tropical vibe. This picturesque bay attracts surfers, yogis, and travellers seeking a relaxed atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. The peak season from April to October offers consistent waves and vibrant beachside activities, while the off-season provides a quieter, more tranquil escape with lush landscapes and a slower pace of life.
A bright space with sea view
The studio is located on the second floor at Stay Golden. With windows on both sides, the shala is naturally lit during the day. At dawn and in the evening, carefully chosen lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere for events. A natural breeze or high-quality wooden fans provide comfort when it gets warm. The shala can accommodate up to 25 people, making it suitable for retreats and trainings, whether for small groups or larger gatherings. We provide all necessary equipment like mats, blocks and bolsters.
New in 2024
We began offering yoga classes in 2018, after Angie completed her first YTT. Initially, we utilized a former restaurant space for our classes. In 2019, when Stay Golden relocated outside of town, we constructed our first dedicated yoga space. Over time, it evolved, and in 2024, we realized our dream by opening our studio.
